For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Bentley Flying Spur are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Rolls-Royce Ghost doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Flying Spur are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Ghost doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

An active infrared night vision system optional on the Flying Spur helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera and near-infrared lights to detect heat, the system then projects the image on the windshield, near the driver’s line of sight. The Ghost doesn’t offer a night vision system.

The Bentley Flying Spur’s rear backup camera has a standard washer for maintaining a clear view under various conditions. In contrast, the Rolls-Royce Ghost does not offer a rear camera washer, meaning its effectiveness relies on manual cleaning by the user when necessary.

Both the Flying Spur and Ghost have rear cross-traffic warning, but the Flying Spur has Reversing Traffic Warning (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Ghost’s Cross Traffic Warning doesn’t automatically brake.

The Flying Spur SPEED can travel with zero emissions for 30 miles. The Ghost can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Flying Spur (except Hybrid)’s fuel efficiency. The Ghost doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

Regenerative brakes improve the Flying Spur Hybrid’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Ghost doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the Flying Spur’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. The Flying Spur offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The Ghost doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the Flying Spur’s trunk can be opened and closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Flying Spur has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Ghost doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The Bentley Flying Spur has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the rear view mirror. The Flying Spur’s Intelligent Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically.
